Typical Punjabi dishes make up most of the menu, and the versions at Chit Chaat are reminiscent of home-style cooking, redolent with fresh spices and a depth of flavor that only comes from slow cooking.
One crowd favorite has been a samosa burrito. The freshly fried, potato-stuffed morsel gets tucked into a tortilla and dressed up with spicy chickpeas and hot and sweet chutneys, then grilled and wrapped. Maggie Sukhwani, one of the Puri daughters, came up with the idea as a spin on an Indian snack favorite, packaged in an easy takeaway format.
Pani puri kits have also been a big hit. A street food staple in India, the crispy semolina shells are served with the necessary accoutrements. Customers can crack the top of the puris, stuff it with the potato masala, dunk it into the cup of sweet, tangy, and spicy pani (liquid). The generous helping makes the interactive snack big enough to function as a family-size appetizer.

I'’'ve never been so excited for gas station food! Everything was delicious, and the service was super friendly. I’d never had something like the chili chicken before and was pleasantly surprised. And the mango lassi was super strong in mango flavor! Cant wait to have more.
So yummy and totally worth stopping on the way back to DC! The gentleman who helped us with our order was incredibly kind and patient while my friend and I mulled over the menu for at least 10 minutes. We intended to get our food to go but they ended up bringing out a couple of stools for us so we could enjoy some of our apps before heading back to the city. The food was delicious and appropriately portioned. About the prices I’d except to pay for the quality of food I received regardless of the location. My only regret was that I didn’t get more naan. Will definitely be back!
I recently had the pleasure of trying the burritos at my school and they were absolutely delicious! One of my teachers, who is a regular patron at this establishment, treated our class to this delightful cuisine in an effort to support a small business. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food and thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
The meal was amazingly delicious. I got to talk to the husband wife owners for 15min and they couldn’t be nicer. Apologized and were thankful I gave them another chance and boy was I glad as well. The samosa chaat couldn’t be beat. I tried the chicken burrito and it was a wonder take a blending two types of food and the fresh samosas might be the best thing I’ve ever had. They earned my business going forward.
Fantastic! I had the lamb biryani, the chicken korma, and the carrot halwa. The lamb was tender and the biryani was light and not greasy. The rice for the korma was nicely seasoned. All the dishes had a nice layering of spices and flavors. The cheese naan was so delicious that we ate it all in the car before we even got home! Great customer service as well.
Hidden gem in Vienna! We stopped and got the spicy chicken burrito and the butter chicken with the spinach and cheese curry. Must try in NOVA food scene!
